Dear Church Family,
It is an exciting time to be a member of River Road! Many families, both members and non-members, have enjoyed spending time with our church family at the Food Trucks this summer. Many members volunteered at VBS and it is hard to explain the joy that fills one’s heart to see so many smiling children learning about the wonderful works of God.
I greeted a guest who joined us for church services on a Sunday in July. I received an email from her that said they had been visiting churches for about two years and had been to about 15 different ones. I was thrilled when the guest said River Road was the most welcoming of the many churches they had visited. Doesn’t that make you feel proud to be a member of River Road Church?
We should also be proud of the success of the Rejoice and Give Thanks capital campaign. It is such an example of how committed we are as a congregation.
When we give to the church, we are rewarded with a feeling of connection that strengthens our faith. The more we give, the more our church will grow. The more we give, the more we will be able to do for the community. The more we give, the better example we set for the future stewards in the congregation. The more we give, the more we will get in return.
As we think ahead to our commitment during this year’s stewardship campaign, try to think about your pledge differently. Think about all of the exciting things happening at River Road. Think about what you love about our church. Think about ways you can support River Road to ensure that our church can continue to grow.
Sincerely,
Kate Knerr and The Stewardship Committee
