Who We Are
The Richmond area is alive with wonderful churches, yet many families and individuals have found their church home at River Road Church, Baptist.
We believe that this is largely due to the welcoming nature of our congregation. Those at River Road Church, Baptist warmly embrace new members into its fellowship, eager to show the love and spiritual growth that River Road Church, Baptist offers.
While this church seeks progress through our cooperation with entities focused on advancing Christ’s kingdom, such as Richmond Baptist Association, the Baptist General Association of Virginia, and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, we honor our rich history and traditions. In 1946, the men and women of River Road Church, Baptist envisioned an open Christian congregation that could welcome fellow believers, while showing respect to their prior denominational affiliations and practices. We believe that we have grown to be that congregation.
Our congregation thrives in this spiritual environment that fosters growth, or what we like to call “an informed faith.” We relish worshiping together in a transformational experience from the spoken word and inspiring choral music blended in the time tested liturgical form. Through worship we immerse ourselves in the traditional ordinances, celebrating Holy Communion monthly and during special services in the Christian Year, and celebrating Baptism twice a year and by request.
