Adult Wednesday Night Program – November 28, 2012
Chances are that you or somebody you know is or will be a caregiver of someone with dementia. Kathy Berry is the chaplain at Westminster Canterbury to residents needing memory support and an adjunct professor in the graduate school of Allied Health
Professions at VCU Medical Center. She will introduce us to the physiology of dementia, the spiritual needs of people in various stages of dementia and how to provide pastoral care to them, effective communication tools, and ways in which the congregation can support those with dementia and their caregivers.
The session will be held in the Adult Assembly room off of the Lower Commons from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There is no cost for the session, and church members are encouraged to invite friends.
