Sunday, October 15, 2023
3:00 p.m., Sanctuary
Richmond’s newly-formed chorale ensemble, Vox Humana, will return to our chancel on October 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. You can depend on their director, Dr. William Bradley Roberts, to choose a program that will be engaging and meaningful.
The program includes:
- The first North American performance of a lush, gorgeous Mass setting by living Paris composer Yves Castagnet.
- A section called “Words of Four Wise Women,” featuring work of Harriet Tubman, Dorothy Parker, Emily Dickinson, and Maya Angelou.
- A section called “Reflections on a Rabbi from Nazareth” that includes music by composers of various nationalities and races, beginning with the Birth of Christ and ending with his Second Coming.
- In addition to the eight singers of Vox Humana, two instrumentalists will perform: Christopher Martin, organ, and David James, oboe.
Free parking across River Road and behind the church.
