Welcome Stan Barnett to the River Road kitchen!

Stan is a Richmond native and a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. He has been catering for over 40 years. In 1989 he opened The Hill Cafe for a very diverse and welcoming community, and after 11 years of service is the former Director of Kitchen Ministries for St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

His one daughter and two grandsons live in Park City, Utah. He and his partner of 32 years live in downtown Richmond and spend much of their time traveling and visiting their Outer Banks beach home.

Please note that the menu options are set and meals are served as delivered by the caterer. If you have dietary restrictions, you may choose not to be plated with certain items as food is served. You are always welcome to bring your own meal and enjoy table fellowship with us.

Ash Wednesday Service
6:45-7:30 p.m., Sanctuary

We prepare for the pivotal church season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday Service of Worship on February 22 at 6:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the season of spiritual renewal leading up to Easter. On Ash Wednesday, we express sorrow for the ways we have not lived into the fullness of our calling, and we recognize our humanity through the receiving of ashes. The service will include the imposition of ashes for those who wish to receive them. Please note this service will not be livestreamed.

Youth are encouraged to participate. Children age 4 and older will have a separate Ash Wednesday activity. If you need childcare for children 3 and under, please contact sandyrooney@riverroad.church.
