We prepare for the pivotal church season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday Service of Worship. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the season of spiritual renewal leading up to Easter. The season of Lent focuses upon repentance for sin and preparation for sharing in the death and resurrection of Christ. On Ash Wednesday, we express sorrow for the ways in which we as Christians have not lived into the fullness of our calling, and we recognize our humanity through the receiving of ashes. The service will include the imposition of ashes for those who wish to receive them. Youth will attend this service. Children will meet for an activity prior to the service, after the activity, Sandy Rooney will bring them to the service.
