“[Camp] Alkulana is a really awesome camp that brings you closer to God and people who love him,” one of the campers of 2012 wrote. This summer camp for Richmond’s children, in its 98th season, hosted 208 campers last year from ages nine to fifteen. Ninety percent are on free or reduced lunch programs, making this ministry of the Richmond Baptist Association for low-income and at-risk children and youth. “Opportunities are given for campers to enjoy the blessings of swimming in a cool mountain stream, trying new adventure activities, and growing meaningful relationships with each other and with God,” according to Director Beth Reddish Wright. Additionally, Wright points out the opportunities for the camp staff to grow as they take on leadership roles with some teaching Bible studies for the first time.

Now is the time to pray and give to the Camp Alkulana Offering for the success of the summer of 2013.
