The Advent season was full of learning and fun for our children. They began the season with an ADVENTure lunch where over 60 people, making up families of all ages and sizes, came to begin the Advent season together with a meal and making an Advent wreath as a family. Here is one story from the lunch:

“My granddaughter Paige Newcomb had a great time at Adventure Lunch.  Now almost 12, Paige has attended every year since she was 5. We appreciate the encouragement this event makes on  a child’s level to thoughtfully approach Christmas. This year it was especially fun for Paige, while making her arrangement for the Advent candles, to have the “professional” Flower Committee ladies on hand to give tips and assist. When Paige wanted to do something different, Julia Tyler stepped in to encourage by assuring her that her technique would make it ‘pop.’  Paige loved that,” said Judy Morris.

Our Cherub Choir got to hear the Christmas story by a very special guest, Chester Phelps. We also got to learn some of the traditional Christmas carols from David Gulick.

Our children’s choirs did a beautiful job of leading worship during the Advent season, especially on Christmas Eve, where all three children’s choirs helped tell the Christmas story through song.
