Missions Ingathering

The River Road Church Sunday Ingathering on April 27, 2014 will be a presentation on the Standing Rock Sioux Indian Reservation Mission presented by the Rev. Maria E. Lynn, the Adult Mission Coordinator for the WMU of Virginia.
Rev. Lynn will present an overview of the history and partnership of Virginia with Pastor Boots and Jackie Marsh in their ministry on the Standing Rock Reservation through the Tipi Wakan Church in Cannon Ball, ND. She will share the ministry of the missions that River Road Church has been involved in the last 5 years, discuss the culture of the Native Americans on the Reservation, as well as plans for future ministries including a Horse Therapy Program.
Many of the girls on the reservation have been abused and find it very hard to trust others. A big breakthrough in ministering to these girls is through horse therapy. Rev. Lynn has first hand knowledge of this emerging program to share with us.
Please join the Ingathering in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15a for coffee, juice and breakfast snacks and then at 9:45a hear an inspiring presentation on the Standing Rock Mission that our congregation participates in and supports through our Board of Missions and teams.
