Season of Prayer and Easter Offering for CBF National and Global Missions
March 1-31, 2016

Extra time for reflection, prayer and meditation are Lenten practices taken on by many of us as Easter approaches.  Some of us include fasting or giving up certain foods as part of our spiritual journey.  Baptists have also included a Season of Prayer and an Easter Offering for missions.  Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, with which River Road affiliates, sponsors missionaries, field representatives, who work in the Americas and around the world who work with the most neglected. They give support and assistance for “life needs,” including the message of God’s love.

One of the field representatives is Jenny Jenkins, a nurse in Haiti.  Jenny says, “Since the earthquake my focus has become clearer. There is a great need for follow up care with infections, wound care, physical therapy, and the rebuilding of lives.  It’s an opportunity to be Christ to a people who are desperately seeking a safe refuge. In the past, health care was disjointed at best. Now we are rebuilding. We as Christians have an opening to be Christ to these people as never before.  Pray and Give for the work in Haiti.

Please pray for this ministry. Offering envelopes are in the Sanctuary pew racks. You may also make a contribution online (select “Global Missions”). [General instructions for online giving are available.]
