On June 8-10, River Road will welcome a very special musical guest – David Briggs, Organist Emeritus of Gloucester Cathedral in England. Mr. Briggs will be working with our choir throughout the weekend as we prepare to sing two magnificent choral works his has written: The Mass for Notre Dame and the Evening Service for Trinity College, Cambridge. The Chancel Choir will also be singing the Te Deum in C and the Jubilate Deo by Benjamin Britten. Although Mr. Briggs will be “coaching” us through these works in rehearsal, he will actually serve as accompanist for the concert. The concert will conclude with an improvisation on submitted themes. Take a moment to listen to some of Briggs’s music which can be found easily on YouTube. He will inspire you, and you will want to promote this concert with your family, friends, and neighbors.  See you on June 10!
