We give of our time, talents, and financial resources to our Church to praise God for all the many gifts we have been given. God has blessed us in so many ways! I am sure you can relate to many of these blessings. I am blessed with a loving husband. We are blessed with three loving children (and the challenges that flow from these blessings). We are blessed with a caring and loving church family, which includes not only our ministers and members, but also for me my sisters in Joyful Hearts and my brothers and sisters in choir. We are blessed that this church family is here to help us in our spiritual journey. This support comes in the form of helpful words spoken. Moreover, it also comes from that smile that we see in passing; a reflection that tells us Jesus’ love is present in this place.
God has given all of us a greater blessing. This blessing is the greatest gift one could ever hope to receive. This blessing is best stated in Ephesians 2:4-5, and is as follows:
“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.”
With this blessing, what else do we truly need?
It is easy to answer the question of why we give. We give a part of what God has already abundantly given us. It is our hope that God will bless this offering and use it to further God’s Kingdom on this Earth. We want others to also experience God’s grace. We want the love of Jesus Christ to be shared with others.
We also believe in River Road Church, Baptist. We believe this fellowship of Christ is doing its best to carry out God’s mission on this Earth. We give of our time, talents, and financial resources so that the children’s, adults’, music, and other church ministries will thrive. We give so that our missions outreach will carry on. We give so that our current programs can continue, and new ones can start. Things are definitely happening in this Church! We thank and praise God for allowing us the opportunity to give to River Road Church, Baptist and to help spread the love of Jesus Christ.
In Christ’s Service,
Martha Day and Mark Dumas
This series is designed to give RRCB members an opportunity to reflect upon their own generosity to God. In reading their stories, we pray that your own life of generosity is encouraged and challenged as well.
