Where We Are

To date, members of the Pastor Search Committee (PSC) have met on 22 occasions, participated in additional subcommittee meetings, and engaged in many hours of individual work and reflection. From responses to our advertised position, recommendations from church members and friends of River Road Church, and a set of individuals identified by a professional search firm, we received 65 resumes and applications. Each member of the PSC reviewed and rated all of these applications, and as a committee we narrowed the field of search to 12 individuals. We listened to multiple sermons by each of these persons, and conducted telephone interviews with all of them (at least three PSC members per call). From these 12 we have now narrowed the field down to six. We have begun the next phase of interviews via video conference with each of these six candidates. These interviews involve all members of the PSC. We anticipate concluding these interviews by the middle of July.

At this point, we are no longer officially seeking additional resumes; however, we do remain open to outstanding candidates that might be brought to our attention.

We believe, hope, and pray that our next pastor is within this group of six candidates. Members of the Pastor Search Committee want you to know how gratifying this experience is and, while many hours go into the task, each of us feels it is time well spent. We continue to prayerfully consider the needs, vision, and future of River Road Church, and we humbly ask you to keep us in your prayers as we continue this search.
