CHURCH BUSINESS MEETING CALLED
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2016
The Pastor Search Committee is pleased to announce that at the conclusion of the worship service on Sunday, October 9, it will bring a report to the membership unanimously recommending a candidate for Pastor of River Road Church, Baptist.
This will also serve as notice, pursuant to the Church’s Constitution and By-Laws, of a special meeting of the membership to be held in the Sanctuary at the conclusion of the worship service on Sunday, October 16, for the purpose of receiving the recommendation of the Pastor Search Committee and acting upon the issuance of a call for the candidate to become the sixth pastor of River Road Church, Baptist.
Events have been planned for Thursday, October 13; Friday, October 14; and Saturday, October 15, to provide opportunities for members to meet the candidate and his wife. In this issue of Connections, details of these events are provided.
The Pastor Search Committee respectfully requests that you refrain from posting news of the committee’s recommendation on social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.), or sharing this news outside of the River Road Church community. We wish to make every attempt to be respectful and sensitive to the candidate, his family, and community during this time of consideration and transition. We are making considerable efforts to notify all members of River Road Church, so that everyone can share in the coming events and decision-making.
These are exciting times in the life of our church, and we encourage you to fully participate.
EVENTS ANNOUNCED BY PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE
Sunday, October 9, 12:00 PM: Conclusion of worship service, report from the Pastor Search Committee
Thursday, October 13, 6:30 PM, Fellowship Hall: Dinner with staff; church officers; trustees; board, standing committee, and council chairs of River Road Church (by invitation). Child care provided if requested
Friday, October 14, 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Fellowship Hall: Church-wide reception with brief remarks by the candidate. All church members are invited and encouraged to attend. Child care provided if requested
Saturday, October 15, 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, Lower Commons: Gathering for youth, children, and their families
Sunday, October 16, 12:00 PM: Conclusion of worship service, called business meeting for the purpose of receiving the recommendation of the Pastor Search Committee and issuing call to River Road’s sixth pastor
