Palm Sunday & Easter Egg Hunts

Our children began our Palm Sunday worship service with leading the Palm Processional. This reenacted the story of the crowd meeting Jesus in Jerusalem, and began Holy Week. The day concluded with our Easter Egg Hunts after worship. Thanks to our egg hiding teams who helped hide eggs inside due to weather: Sharon Seward, Elizabeth Seward, Claire McAllister, Abigail McAllister, Emelia Roberts, Amanda Rooney, Tim Merritt, and Katie Merritt. Thanks to Marnie Fisher-Ingram for orchestrating the Elementary School Egg Hunt.

Easter Sunday

In Children’s Church, the children hear the story of the day in different ways and sometimes, in different settings. On Easter Sunday, our children heard and talked about the Easter Story outside in the middle of a beautiful day. And on Sundays, when something different is being presented in worship, we come back to the Sanctuary to observe and hear what the older children, youth, and adults are experiencing. We heard the Hallelujah Chorus on Easter Sunday complete with orchestra! It was a joy.

Thanks to all the adults and youth who took time on Easter Sunday to be with our littlest ones. Thanks also to our teachers who choose to be with our little ones every Sunday in WorshipCare. River Road is grateful for your work and dedication. Thank you.

Visit from Dr. Loftis

We had a visit from Dr. Deb Loftis, retired church music professor from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (BTSR).  She came for Cherub and Carol Choir rehearsal, and for 3rd-5th grade TFC Kids.  She talked about African American spirituals, and we sang some too!
