Children’s Choirs

Children’s choirs will rehearse on Thursday instead of Wednesday this week. Dinner will follow rehearsal.
Passover Seder
6:00 p.m., Fellowship Hall
This is an event for the whole family. During the meal we will observe elements from the Jewish Seder, the same meal Jesus shared with his disciples when he instituted the Lord’s Supper. If possible, please check-in and be seated by 5:45 p.m. so we can promptly begin the program at 6:00 p.m. Those who may not be able to arrive by 6:00 p.m., we still welcome you and will be able to make accommodations.

Dinner reservations are required. Please make your dinner reservations below by Monday, March 30 at 11:00 a.m. You may also make reservations by calling the church office (804-288-1131), emailing Susan Young, or placing a card in the offering plate on Sunday, March 29.

Maundy Thursday Service of Remembrance and Tenebrae
7:30 p.m., Sanctuary
Maundy Thursday (“Holy Thursday”) is the Thursday of Passion Week. Two important events are the focus of Maundy Thursday. First, River Road Church observes a special Communion service on Maundy Thursday in memory of Jesus’ Last Supper with His disciples. Second, Jesus’ self-giving act for our salvation is observed through Tenebrae, a distinctive ceremony where the gradual extinguishing of the candles in the Sanctuary occurs while the story of Jesus’ trial and crucifixion is read.
