We are looking to expand the format of the Lenten devotional series this year. In addition to the “traditional” format of taking a scripture passage and writing a short meditative thought, we hope to include music, art, and poetry. We are welcoming original submissions as well as creations by others that our members find meaningful. Including the latter might sometimes be tricky with copyright permissions, but we’re willing to investigate and give proper credit if we can include it like we did with this very post!
If you would like to write a devotion, visit our sign-up page to see what texts are available and to sign up. If you have ideas for or submissions of other creative expressions, feel free to email devotions@riverroad.church with your thoughts or talk to Sheryl Johnson. You do not need to associate your music, art, or poetry with a particular scripture text, though you are welcome to do so.
