5:30-8:00 p.m., North Parking Lot
Five food trucks will set up shop in the North Parking Lot and these local vendors will sell sliders, tacos, barbecue, hot dogs, Asian cuisine, ice cream, and more (varying from week-to-week) to anyone who shows up.
One of the purposes of our church is to offer hospitality and create community in the larger neighborhoods we serve. Hosting food trucks is another way to invite people to get to know us and each other around the common act of eating together.
The church does not pay a fee to host the trucks. They have an association of truck/restaurant owners who want to participate each Wednesday evening and who will publicize their presence in our parking lot. We will set out tables and chairs where people can eat, allow diners to use our restrooms off the Lower Commons and open our playground for children to enjoy. No alcoholic beverages will be sold or permitted on our property.
Our Board of Administration overwhelmingly approved this use of our facilities, and our newly-formed Membership Committee endorsed it as a way of reaching out to our community. Let’s enjoy some food and fun in the interest of making friends.
Summer Vespers will begin on Wednesdays nights at 7PM in July.
RRCB Members – Volunteer Opportunities
We need hosts each week! If you or your group are interested in participating as a host for one Wednesday night, please sign up online through Access ACS.
Sign Up Information
Click on the date that you are interested in and it will display all of the available opportunities. The opportunities are Setup and Greeting (5-6PM), Greet Guests and Mingle (6-7PM and 7-8PM), Playground Supervisor, and Take Down and Clean Up. (Once an opportunity has been filled, it will no longer be visible.) Click the opportunity that you would like to volunteer for, then click “I’m Interested.” After you’ve made your selection, you will be asked to log into your Access ACS or create an account. Your request will then be sent and approved. After you have signed up, someone will follow up with you. You will be able to see your assignments on your dashboard (main screen) when you log into Access ACS.
Note for Group Sign Ups: Please have the leader or coordinator for your group sign up for the “Group Sign Up” opportunity. Your group can determine who will be present and what their roles will be. The person signing up will be the liaison between your group and the Membership Committee leaders.
