Youth
High School Overnighter
April 15-16 at Camp Piankatank
Cost – $25; Deadline to sign up is April 3.
High schoolers will have 24 hours together to grow and learn and fellowship and pray and connect. If you would like to participate in this opportunity, please contact Michael Kellett (michaelkellett@riverroad.church).
Youth Sunday, April 24
Youth will lead us in worship through music, the spoken word, prayer, and the reading of Scripture. For most churches, youth Sunday is a Sunday to “sleep in” because the normal preacher isn’t in the pulpit. Those of you who have been here to worship on Youth Sunday know that this isn’t a “cute” service or one which we feel all warm and fuzzy because the youth are leading but they have little to offer to us. I encourage you to be a part of worship – to support our youth and, more importantly, to worship God as we do each week. After worship, the youth will go to the U of R dining hall for lunch together (bring $10).
Spring Retreat
April 29 – May 1
Cost – $100; Deadline to sign up is April 10.
We will travel to the YMCA camp at Silver Beach for an opportunity to reconnect and be re-created through fellowship, fun, food, prayer, study, rest, and conversation. A $50 deposit is due by the deadline. If you would like to participate in this opportunity, please contact Michael Kellett (michaelkellett@riverroad.church).
Children
Worship Education for Kindergarteners
Sundays, May 15 – June 12, 10:00 a.m.
It’s important that we provide our kindergartners – those who will be coming to worship in the fall – some educational opportunities to learn about worship (why do we worship, what kinds of things do we do in worship, etc.). Each minister will take 15 minutes of the Sunday school hour to go to the Sanctuary to speak about different parts of worship: prayer, music, communion, baptism. We will also provide educational resources for parents about what we talked about so they can follow up. Children will meet in their classroom and be brought to the Sanctuary.
