We want to say thank you for helping us host another wonderful CARITAS visit! Everything went incredibly well. Our 40 women were very appreciative of all of the kind words and friendly faces.
Each woman received a handmade scarf and pillowcase upon arriving. The middle school girls also prepared a toiletry bag for each woman. It was a terrific way to make them feel welcome.
Sunday night was youth night and Wednesday was family night with our youth and children leading the way. They prepared lunches, served dinner and visited with our guests. The middle school girls presented the women with snowmen lights and chocolates that they made. Thomas and Maggie Profitt brought stuffed animals that the majority of our guests slept with each night.
Tuesday night was spa night which is always appreciated by the women. One women commented that it was a wonderful gift to not be afraid for someone to touch her. This year Emily Smart and her friend provided haircuts on Thursday night. What a fantastic service for the women.
A big thank you to Handcraft Cleaners for providing towels for the women and to Jerry Cole and staff at Richmond Laundry for providing laundry services.
We are grateful for all of the wonderful volunteers, for the great dinners, big sendoff breakfast, handmade items, services, and the money that was donated by individuals.
It just gets better and better every year! What a wonderful blessing!
