We would like to say “thank you” for our wonderful October CARITAS of 40 women! Everything went very well!

One of the best things was the first annual pillow case ministry started by Anita McAllister. Each guest received a handmade pillow case and was able to it.

We had our first church family The Grays, Mom (Laurie) Dad (Robert) and sons (James and William), spend the night with our guests. Not so sure there was a lot of sleeping going on, but life-long memories were made!

Another “first” was by Laurie Gray, who set up two writing tables with cards, stamps, and we even had a little mail bag that Emily Philips made for the cards to be put in and mailed the each day!

Mission Kids made goodie bags, visited with our guest during dinner, and even sang “Happy Birthday” to one of our guests! On Wednesday evening, about 30 VCU/MCV medical students visited and checked vitals for about three hours. They enjoyed our guests so much that they ask to come back again in February.

BINGO was a big hit and the ladies loved the cosmetic bags that the prizes were put in!(Over 70 bags were donated by our church ladies.) The bus tickets and wool socks were the biggest hits as prizes for BINGO!

Many thanks to the wonderful volunteers, for the great dinners, big send off breakfast, and the money that was donated by individuals and Sunday School classes for the bus tickets used for BINGO!

It just gets better and better every year! What a wonderful blessing!

Many thanks for all that make it such a wonderful community mission right here with our church family in God’s House!

Thanks,
Deb and Laurie
