River Roadsters Trip
Saturday, December 6
Washington D.C.
Since 1922, The U.S. Army Band’s “Pershing’s Own” has maintained a tradition of excellence as one of the premier musical organizations of The United States Army. It was founded in 1922 by Army Chief of Staff General John J. “Black Jack” Pershing. Pershing established the band to emulate European military bands he heard during World War I. Its mission survives to this date and continues to play an important role in events of national and international significance. From the battlefields of World War II to the historic events in our Nation’s Capital, the band has performed with honor and grace for more than 85 years. Today’s holiday concert highlights the U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own” and wonderful singers of the Army Chorus at DAR Constitution Hall. Plated lunch will be included before the matinee.
