All of God’s world came together under the big tent of the “Everywhere Fun Fair,” a week-long experience where children discovered God’s welcoming love. The halls of River Road were transformed highlighting the countries of Zimbabwe, Mexico, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Over 80 adults and youth prepared for and lead 110 children during Vacation Bible School.

During this week, the children learned how to love and serve God and be a neighbor to the world. Each day children began with an opening worship and then participated in crafts, recreation, music, Bible story, missions, and enjoyed a tasty snack.

Each day focused on an attribute of a neighbor: Neighbors are friendly, giving, bold, forgiving, and welcoming. The Bible story taught these themes and the scripture verse for each day supported it. In all of the other activities, the attribute and scripture were reinforced through crafts, song, missions, and recreation.

Comments from Eleanor Nurney, Elementary Recreation Leader:

“Every time I get the chance to work with kids, I always learn much more from them than I think they learn from me. Their excitement about new things is contagious and I carried that enthusiasm home with me every day… For me, the week was full of smiles and laughter and happy faces that I will never forget… The kids were fantastic and I thank them all for giving me a week of wonderful memories.“

Comments from Deb Gray, Preschool Bible Study Leader:

“First off, big shout out to our wonderful leaders, Lisa and Kristina, for all the time, energy and great organization skills! To all the wonderful youth that gave their talents and smiles and were great role models! It just warmed my heart… It was a great theme that was very age-appropriate… Each day there were pictures and posters to correspond with the Bible lesson and they were large enough for everyone to see and they looked like characters from the Bible… There were lots of great resources for children and leaders.”
