FIXERS is a group of church members that meet twice a month for breakfast and then works on small projects around the church. The FIXERS name itself is an acronym for Frequently Ingenious, eXremely Energetic, Righteous Servants, but even if your personality does not fit this description, you are welcome to come and join the fun.
Our day starts at 8am, with a robust breakfast cooked by Zelda, and conversation. After breakfast, groups break out to work on projects around the church. These projects are mostly the typical type of household repair projects that you would do around your own house. Although, frequently, we do get to try out some new tools that you may not have in your own collection.
Recent FIXERS projects include:
- Changing light bulbs and ballasts in lights around the church
- Touch-up painting in hallways and classrooms
- Moving bulletin boards in Preschool classrooms
- Replacing a faucet in a Preschool bathroom
- Trimming bushes and weed control
- Repairing and staining flower pedestals
- Power washing brick pavers
- Replacing metal sign posts with wooden decorative posts
All are welcome to come and join in the fellowship and work. The next FIXERS dates are September 18 and October 4. If you would like to join, please call the Church Office 288-1131 to reserve a spot for breakfast.
