Weekend of Wonder
February 25-27, 2022
Wonder Through Movement
Briar Chatterjea holds an MA from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She is a dance educator, choreographer and performer that works through the Movement of Laban. Briar was Dance Artist in Residence at the American Embassy School of New Delhi and taught dance in the International Baccalaureate program in Oman. She worked in New York City for Lincoln Center Institute. With the support of two churches, Briar co-founded Heights Community Dancers, an intergenerational dance company in Brooklyn Heights, which was awarded the Brooklyn Community Service Award in 2002 for serving seniors and families. Briar is a brain injury survivor.
Briar is one of several excellent workshop leaders who will guide us on Saturday afternoon. Participants will have the opportunity to select two sessions out of seven selections. These will focus on a wide variety of topics and experiences because we know that each person experiences awe, joy, and wonder in different ways. The areas of focus are: science, photography, art, music, sports, movement and meditation, and poetry.
“Knowledge does not allow you to understand the world. Knowledge dispels the illusion that you understand the world.”
