As the holiday season rolls in, it can be especially difficult for those who have suffered loss throughout the year. Grieving the loss of a loved one, of a job or marriage, or even of a significant dream can be hurtful and make the heart heavy. Our pain can be highlighted by the joy of others or hearing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” when it isn’t for you. This is a normal part of the process of grieving and every individual experiences in their own way and time.
The Starlight service at River Road Church is provided for any and all who know Christmas will carry the weight of sadness this year, for whatever reason. This is a compassionate and still space where you can give attention to special memories and your own sadness in community and in worship and communion with our loving God.
