Our new preschool director is Lyndsay McGreevy. Lyndsay took the reins of River Road Church Preschool Development Center in July, 2016, after Margaret Collins retired. Lyndsey began work right away and continues to set the high standards that Margaret laid out for our preschool for so many years. We will always be grateful for Margaret’s many years of diligent work. Her legacy has given our school a great foundation that will allow us to continue to build and grow.

Lyndsay graduated from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She has previously held director positions at Rainbow Station, the Children’s Museum of Richmond, and Chesterbook Academy. Lyndsay’s experience with the day-to-day fiscal oversight, program planning, implementation, and assessment of her former preschool establishments will serve her well here. Her strong experience in relationship building among families and within the staff has made her a great fit for our program.

Lyndsay envisions our preschool to be an extension of our church ministry to our members and within the greater community. Additional goals are to increase parent involvement in the classroom and utilize them, as volunteers and for special school activities.  She desires for our preschool to provide support and assistance to our parents as they begin their journey to become healthy and nurturing families that are loved by God.

Currently, Lyndsay holds professional memberships at National Association for the Education of Young Children (NACEYC), National Association of Child Care Professionals (NAC), and Richmond Association for Directors of Early Childhood Educators (RAD).  She and her family are active members of Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, where she teaches Sunday school and is on the Children’s Ministry team. During the worship time, she often teaches children’s church or serves as leader of the children’s portion of the service.

Lyndsay is married to David and has two girls. Maddie is 2 and takes part in our developmental program. Hailee, 5, is in the JK class and participates in the extended day program. Hailee enjoys the variety she has during her days at our preschool. When time allows, Lyndsay enjoys running, reading, and exploring Richmond with her girls. She treasures all of her family time and is grateful that she has many opportunities to spend time with her extended family in Richmond. Welcome Lyndsay; River Road Church is pleased to have you here.

The title, “All God’s Children,” references the name to our preschool uses for special mission projects. Together, our preschool families and preschool staff participate in a variety of mission projects to serve the many needs of our community.
