Hands and Hearts: A Family Mission Experience
Where:
Nickelsville, VA, Scott County
When:
June 26 – July 1, 2017, Monday to Saturday
Why do we go?
To be God’s people serving the needs of others.
Who is eligible to attend?
RRCB church family: children who have completed kindergarten, parents, grandparents, and any member of our RRCB church family. All youth 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
What we will do:
Nursing home ministry, food pantry organization, painting, light construction, other ministries to be determined based on needs and numbers.
Accommodations:
We will stay at The Manor, a dormitory style facility with 8 rooms of 6 bunk beds each. Each room has a half bath. There is a male and female shower room on the hall. There is a dining room, large living room, porch, and commercial kitchen for our use.
Transportation:
We will use the church buses, and will have some personal vehicles to transport the teams as required.
Food:
The food group will purchase groceries and supplies in Richmond and at a grocery store on the way to Nickelsville. Various members of the group will do all food preparation.
Costs:
The full amount is due Sunday, June 5. Please make the check payable to “RRCB,” and put “Nickelsville” in memo line. The fee will cover food, lodging, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses.
- $75 per person
- $300 family max for an immediate family of 5 or more
- Grandparents and other relatives are $75 per person and do not make up the family max
Requirements:
A willingness to serve and provide love and hope to the people of Nickelsville!
