Adult Wednesday Night Program
Wednesday, February 15, 2017
6:30 p.m., Assembly Room

The church of Christ has a responsibility and opportunity to care for families and individuals impacted by incarceration.  We will discuss why and how one individual and one collective church can make a difference by ministering to Christ himself.  We will briefly explore factors that may lead to incarceration and recidivism and the practical things that the church can do to help individuals avoid these hurdles.

Martin D. Brown is the Director of Government Relations for ParentalRights.org, and Program Director for The Gloucester Institute. Mr. Brown has over 20 years of leadership experience in human services and government relations serving three Virginia Governor’s. Most recently Mr. Brown served as Special Advisor to the Governor for Prisoner Reentry and Family Reintegration and as Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Social Services. During his time as Commissioner, Mr. Brown oversaw the Virginia Strengthening Families Initiative where an agency wide practice model was adopted, and the continuation and expansion of Virginia’s child welfare transformation occurred. Mr. Brown is a graduate of Howard University’s School of Business. He and his wife, Nita, have two teenaged children and reside in Richmond, VA. We are excited to welcome them to River Road Church! Seldon has experience as a general manager at Virginia restaurants and country clubs, where his responsibilities included hiring and training food service staff, menu development, and managing food service budgets. Moe’s experience includes managing and cooking at local restaurants as well. Currently, both Seldon and Moe are pursuing catering events, including those at RRCB. If you are interested in having Annabell’s Catering prepare food for your event, contact the church office, or come to Wednesday Night Dinner and introduce yourself!
