6:30 p.m.: Intergenerational Back to School Night with Ed Pruden

Our own Dr. Ed Pruden, former principal of Douglas Freeman High School and Assistant Superintendent of the Richmond Public Schools help guide children*, youth, and adults into a new, productive, and happy school year.

*Children will not participate in the entire program. Kim Crowley will lead the children in prayer time to pray for students around our world, our nation, our state, and our city. Children will pray for their own schools, and also for themselves as they begin a new year.

Dinner reservations are required. Please sign up by September 6.

Mission Footprint 5K & Kids Fun Run
Saturday, September 10
at Trinity United Methodist Church

Registration is now open for the sixth annual Mission Footprint 5K. Additionally, we need 30+ volunteers from RRCB. Youth who would like to participate as a volunteer are more than welcome.

Celebration Sunday
Sunday, September 11
Sunday School, Worship, & Picnic

Parents, bring your children to Sunday School early so you can meet their teachers. Be present in worship as we pray for and celebrate all those who support the various educational, missional, and worship ministries of our church. Return to the church in the early evening for a church-wide picnic. The picnic will include the deacons grilling burgers and hot dogs and the rest of us providing sides and desserts. Then we will hear from our youth about their summer experiences and adventures. Sign up for the potluck by Wednesday, September 7. Childcare is available for children 5 and younger.

Back to School Party
Friday, September 9
6:00-8:00 p.m., Chapel Hall

Join us in Chapel Hall for a Back to School party as we usher in the new School year. We will have a pizza dinner, followed by meeting our Sunday School teachers for the year, and play board games together. RSVP to Kim Crowley by filling out the form online or emailing kimcrowley@riverroad.church by September 6 if you can attend.

Youth

Youth Bulletin Board

Parents have requested that youth information be placed on a bulletin board located near the Youth Area. The board is next to the entrance of the Youth Area.. The monthly calendars and activities will be posted there for all to see beginning in September. Check it out!

Fall Retreat October 22-23
Airfield 4-H Educational Center Wakefield, VA

The group will depart on Saturday morning October 22 and return on Sunday afternoon, October 23. You can sign up for the Retreat on Sunday, September 18.
