Fifty of Oak Groveʼs neediest children left the school on Friday, December 18th wearing a Christmas red backpack stuffed full of nutritious food to help with meals and snacks during their winter break. These backpacks and the cans, boxes, and bags of food in them were made possible by our congregationʼs generous contributions to our 2015 Thanksgiving Offering. What meaningful contributions these were!!
Thanks to you, each childʼs backpack contained small, pop-top cans of green beans, corn, pears, and beans and franks; a large can of spaghetti and meatballs; macaroni and cheese; two packs each of milk, apple juice, and cereal; two granola bars; four fruit snack pouches; and three clementines.
Thanks to you, each family attending the “Winter Wonderland” holiday program on the Thursday evening before break left with a 15 ounce package of Oreos to add a sweet touch to their holidays. A red or green note with good wishes from Micah partners was included with each pack. Smiles and appreciation abounded!
Thanks to you, the holiday season for many Oak Grove children and families was a bit brighter, more satisfying, and less stressful. I know I speak for them and for our Micah volunteers when I say a huge thanks to you for caring!
