Vacation Bible School: July 13-17, 2015

Please consider volunteering for VBS, even if it is only for one day. Without the help of volunteers, we would not be able to have a successful VBS week. If you are interested in volunteering, please the list of opportunities below and use the form at the bottom to sign up. Childcare is available for volunteers who have children under 4. All volunteers are required to have a background check. Please print out, complete, and return the Background Check Consent Form to the church office.

Where will you serve?

Prior to VBS:

  • Pray for the children and volunteers
  • Prepare materials (banners, posters, backdrops, etc. to be used by the teachers or decorating committee)
  • Decorate the church
  • Donate materials
    • 1/2 Gallon Milk or Orange Juice Jugs with Lids
    • Empty Egg Cartons
  • Donate snacks for the children for VBS week
  • Donate drinks and snacks for the volunteers
  • Assist VBS directors with administrative needs the week prior to VBS such as creating name tags, sorting class materials, and creating directional signs

During VBS Week:

  • Preschool Leaders: lead preschool age children through a series of stations throughout the morning taught by other volunteers
  • Elementary Leaders: lead elementary age children through a series of stations throughout the morning taught by other volunteers
  • Assist 1 or more days in a classroom
  • Provide childcare for the VBS volunteers’ children
  • Preschool Music Leader
  • Elementary Music Leader
  • Elementary Recreation Leader: guide children through games and other recreation activities
  • Preschool Bible Storytellers: Bible stories and accompanying materials are provided
  • Elementary Bible Storytellers: Bible stories and accompanying materials are provided
  • Snack Leaders: prepare snacks for the children each day
  • Mission Leader: help the children with the assembly of the mission project
  • Photographer: take pictures of various activities throughout the week of VBS and use selected pictures to create a bulletin board following VBS week
  • Hostess: Greet, Coordinate Snack Room, Luncheon Reservations
  • Greeter for days one and two: Greet and direct children on the first two mornings of VBS
  • Coordinate the VBS luncheon on Friday
  • Assist with the VBS luncheon on Friday
  • Coordinate a breakfast one morning for parents of VBS participants

After VBS:

  • Take down decorations following VBS luncheon
  • Pray for the children who attended
  • VBS Outreach Coordinator
    • Send thank you notes to the children who attended VBS
    • Coordinate follow up by teachers of those children without a church family
