2011 Cookout & Potluck

Please join the Board of Deacons as they host a cookout and potluck dinner, Sunday, August 26, at 5:00pm. Dinner will be followed by a screening of the movie, “The Help,” hosted by the Board of Christian Education and Spiritual Formation.  You may attend just the dinner, just the movie, or come for the whole evening!

The dinner will be held on the church’s front plaza (rain location is the Fellowship Hall).  The deacons will be grilling and serving hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken breasts with all the  fixins. Please check the list to the right to see what dishes we will need you to bring for the potluck.

The movie will be in the Fellowship Hall and will begin at 6:30pm.  “The Help” is offered as part of the River Road Reads program and is the film based on the book of the same name.  Note: The movie is rated PG-13 and may not be suitable for younger audiences.  Running time is 142 minutes.  You may wish to consult IMDB for more details on the film as well as a parents guide to the film (compiled by IMDB users).

There is still some space left.  You may make your reservations by calling the church office or speaking to Sheryl Johnson.  (Reservations are not needed to attend the movie.)  Be sure to include the number of adults, youth, and children attending. There is no charge for the meal or movie.

We hope to see you there!
