It is my nature to be quite emotional and perhaps overly sentimental. Many events, such as baby dedications, joyful memories of my wife, etc., cause me to choke up and tears form and frequently roll down my cheeks. Even now as I attempt to put these thoughts on paper, I experience tightness in my throat and tear-clouded eyes.

Each Sunday as part of the offertory, it is traditional in our service to “Praise God from whom all blessings flow” as we sing the familiar “Old Hundred” Doxology. Then as we reach the phrase, “Praise Him above, ye heav’nly hosts,” I experience a profound closeness to God and to my wife as I “hear” her lovely voice, as she joins in the praises.
